AECS is the flagship agri-environmental scheme in Scotland.

It provides funding for a large range of environmental measures for successful applicants and can provide significant additional income to farming businesses, particularly those with more marginal arable land and upland farms.

The scheme is applied for annually and Scottish Government have confirmed application rounds will be in place in 2023 and 2024 and probably 2025.

The scheme is competitive, meaning that it is important to ensure that your application scores sufficient points to stand a good chance of success.

Alongside a range of agri-environmental options, the scheme is also the access point for Organic Farming grants and support.

We have had significant success with our applications over many years and are well placed to help you get the most from the scheme for your business.

Detailed guidance for the scheme is available through the Scottish Government website, which can be found here.

Our approach to the scheme is pro-active. Before applying we will:

  • Assess the options available on your farm
  • Give a pragmatic view on the likeliehood of your scheme scoring enough points to be successful
  • Show the likely expected income to your business over the 5 years of the scheme
  • Give a personalized quote for undertaking the application
  • Provide additional support after the initial application process and once in the scheme
